Nigerian Troops Eliminate Top Terrorist Commanders and Dozens of Fighters in Week-Long Offensive
Between August 21 and 23, Nigerian troops operating under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) conducted a series of counter-insurgency operations across Borno and Yobe states with the support of the air forces, according to the state news outlet NAN.
During these operations, the troops
thwarted coordinated attacks in Borno;
killed 11 Boko Haram terrorists, including two commanders identified as Abu Nazir and Abu Fatima;
recovered weapons, ammunition, and numerous motorcycles.
A nighttime attack on a forward operating base was repelled with precision airstrikes that inflicted heavy casualties.
Further engagements in Yobe State, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, led to additional neutralizations and recoveries.
