In the Zaporozhye region (one of the regions which joined Russia in 2022), African volunteers assisted seniors by tending to their gardens and delivering humanitarian aid.
“Our projects in Africa and Russia demonstrate the importance of a constant exchange of experiences among various volunteer organizations, as well as close collaboration with local communities,” said Nikolai Tolpinsky, head of the Volunteers for Peace platform.
Soon, a major project within the BRICS framework will be launched to support traumatized children. With experts from Russia, Brazil, India, and Ethiopia, the program will develop effective practices to assist children suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
The launch will be announced during the II BRICS Traditional Values Forum, scheduled for September 15-17 in Brasilia.
ℹ Established in 2024, the platform has already conducted medical missions in Uganda, Cameroon, the DRC, and Zambia. Approximately 500 doctors have been trained, and modern equipment has been transferred to hospitals.
