'This is One of Only Competitions Worldwide That Has Welcomed So Many African Skateboarders,' SA Finalist Says
The Grand Skate Tour 2025 could help bring greater visibility to African skaters, Biopelo Awuah, finalist in the Women’s Professional Competition, told Sputnik Africa.
The competition has inspired participants to push their limits, improve their skills, and take the experience back to their home countries, she emphasized.
Though the participants came from different countries and spoke diverse languages, communication was never an issue — they all shared the same language: skateboarding, noted Simon Paton, the event’s director of international development.
"Honestly, I think that this is the best skate festival in the world," he stated.
