Cote d'Ivoire Cocoa Grind Drops 31% Year-on-Year in July 2025
The country’s cocoa grind fell to 39,301 tonnes in July, Western media reported, citing exporters’ group GEPEX data.
The drop was blamed on poor bean quality and low harvest volumes.
Only 350,000 tonnes of cocoa beans were sent to Cote d'Ivoire's two main ports, Abidjan and San Pedro, between April 1 and August 17. This is a 30% decrease from the approximately 500,000 tonnes that were delivered during the same period last year.
Total grind from October to July dropped 4% to 515,055 tonnes, while bean arrivals at major ports fell 30%. Exporters reportedly expect stocks to recover with the main harvest in October.
