'The Ball Lies in America’s Court': Nigerian Professor Describes Path to Peace in Ukraine
"Putin should be very, very careful that he's not representing only Russia. He's representing the entire world, outside America and Europe and Israel. So, it is us versus them," Abubakar Sadeeque Abba, Professor of Political Economy at the University of Abuja, told Sputnik Africa.
NATO and the West, not Russia, are driving the conflict in Ukraine, and that peace will only be possible if Washington and Brussels step back from their current stance, the expert believes.
"If he [President Putin] stands his ground — and he has the capacity to stand his ground — certainly Russia will be stronger and the whole world will be more secure," Abba added, highlighting that the Russian leader's determination is decisive for the future of global security.
