The event, featuring SADC countries embassies in Russia and Russian Foreign Ministry representatives, included cultural displays, friendly football matches, and a vibrant cultural program showcasing SADC community diversity.
"The SADC region has nearly 220 million people, which makes it a huge muscle if we are operating under one roof. So sport is a complementary activity," Mark Grey Marongwe, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Russia, told Sputnik Africa.
The Angolan team won the football tournament, followed in the table by the teams of Zambia, Tanzania and the Russian MFA.
