The Alaska talks could affect conflicts outside Ukraine, “including in the Middle East," Lebanese expert on Russian affairs Ahmed Al-Haj Ali told Sputnik.
Closer Russia-US alignment could revive Iranian-US negotiations and support regional stability. Still, fundamental differences remain and require greater rapprochement, he stated.
