The UN reported over 1,300 cholera-related deaths in Sudan in the latter half of 2024. The Africa CDC recorded 220,000 cases in the first seven months of this year and 254,000 in 2024.

In March, UNICEF noted a significant cholera outbreak in eastern and southern Africa, with over 178,000 cases reported since early 2024.
