KARAPETYAN FILES ARBITRATION CLAIM AGAINST ARMENIA
Entrepreneur Samvel Karapetyan has initiated international arbitration proceedings, demanding that Armenian authorities be held accountable for the expropriation of his company Electric Networks of Armenia and compelled to compensate him for damages, preliminarily estimated at $500 million.
Earlier this year, Karapetyan expressed support for the Armenian Apostolic Church amid its tensions with the Armenian government.
On June 18, a court in Yerevan arrested Karapetyan for two months on charges of public calls to seize power in Armenia.
