Nigeria Has Been Using Its Military in a 'Very Practical Way'

Nigeria's active military involvement in conflicts and peacekeeping operations over the past 12-14 years should result in a much higher military ranking due to the country's practical experience, Major General Victor Ezugwu (retd.), former Director General of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), told Sputnik Africa.

"I see Nigeria progressing as a nation when we get our defense equipment, military-industrial complex. You know, it is when security is gotten right that the economy thrives," he said.

Ezugwu explained his strong hope that Nigeria will develop its military capabilities to effectively address and suppress all internal crises, achieving success in:

🟠counter-terrorism,

🟠counter-insurgency operations,

🟠asymmetric warfare.

A capable military would pave the way for a major economic revolution, benefiting the entire nation, he believes.
