Russia's Steps for Arms Deployment Response to US Policy, Deputy Foreign Minister Says
"Compensatory measures are the remit of the military ... Everything we do is a reaction to the steps in this field that we observe from the US and its allies," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told the Russian TV broadcaster.
US weapon systems are "emerging more and more frequently in the regions where they reflect directly on Russia's security," Ryabkov said.
"What is the alternative? To swallow it, to accept what the Americans and their allies, especially the European warmongers, are doing. There are quite a few of them ... We must use such methods to cool the overheated heads in some NATO capitals," Ryabkov added.
