Over 1,170 Killed in Attacks on Medical Facilities in Sudan Since April 2023, WHO Says
As a result of more than 174 attacks, another 362 people were injured, WHO senior emergency officer Ilham Nour told a media briefing.
Sudan's humanitarian crisis deepens due to:
▪Cholera outbreak: nearly 100,000 cholera cases reported since last July;
▪Food insecurity: nearly 25 million people acutely food insecure; famine confirmed in parts of several states, with risk of spread during the lean season;
▪Child malnutrition: an estimated 770,000 children under five expected to suffer from severe acute malnutrition in 2025;
▪Displacement: over 11.3 million people displaced since the conflict began— the world's largest displacement crisis, according to the UN's migration organization.
