Algeria Questions Impact of Trump's Recognition of Morocco's Sovereignty Over Western Sahara
While Trump's support for Western Sahara's autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty was anticipated during a second term, it's unlikely to have any practical effect, Algerian MP Ali Rabidj told Sputnik.
The US leader's statements should be regarded as a political maneuver within the framework of his policy of encouraging Arab countries to move closer to Israel, despite the unresolved Palestinian problem, he added.

On Saturday, in a letter to King Mohammed VI for Throne Day, the US president reaffirmed his support and endorsed Rabat’s autonomy plan, calling it “the only basis for a just and lasting solution to the dispute.”
