The government responded to the nurses' demands with clear implementation timelines, the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives said in a statement, stressing that they would monitor the execution of the signed memorandum of understanding.

The nurses' industrial action began on July 30, with a warning of an indefinite strike if their demands weren't met within seven days.

These demands included:

🟠higher pay,
🟠improved working conditions,
🟠increased staffing.

🩺 On Friday, the nurses' union met with government representatives, including Health Minister Ali Pate and Labour Minister Muhammad Dingyadi. Following the talks, Pate announced the strike's suspension, pledging government action on the nurses' concerns and confirming that no participant would face punishment.
