This decision has sparked criticism. Malian lawyer Amadou Tieoulé spoke candidly to Sputnik Africa:"When someone is brought before the ICC, it is because they are believed to have committed heinous offenses that have struck at the soul of the universal community. Reducing the sentence can cast doubt on the ICC’s decision."
