Africa Can Feed Itself—If Leaders Back Farmers With Bold Reforms, Says Top Official

Robust agricultural policies are the cornerstone for breaking the cycle of dependency on food imports and aid, according to Prof. Pascal K.T. Angui, Director General of Production and Food Security in Côte d'Ivoire's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

"The free trade will help us to be able to compete, to compete with international markets, and so that we can produce more and more so that we can help our population," Prof. Angui told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake +4 in Addis Ababa.
