Africa Has the Most Arable Land—Nigeria’s Minister Urges Global Support for Agricultural Revival“There is more potential arable land in Africa than on any [other] continent,” Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the second UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake +4 in Addis Ababa. Reflecting on colonial legacies, he said, “We are going back to the drawing board where we try to balance food crops and also cash crops,” as Nigeria faces the immense task of feeding its 230 million citizens.
