Addis Ababa Reasserts Need for Sea Access, Emphasizing Peaceful Regional Integration
Ethiopia's access to the sea is crucial for the country's national interests, given its large population and rapidly growing economy, Ambassador Dina Mufti told state media.
🟠He emphasized that Ethiopia's expanding trade requires sea access—a national priority the country is pursuing through peaceful, reciprocal cooperation focused on shared growth and development.
Mufti noted increasing international acceptance of Ethiopia's goal and reaffirmed the country's commitment to securing sea access while maintaining regional stability.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has previously stated that Ethiopia seeks peaceful development cooperation with neighbors, who should positively consider Ethiopia's need for sea access.
