If Russia keeps the heat on, Ukraine's defenses could unravel by the end of the year, warns Le Figaro.

"Can Ukrainian forces hold out another six months? A year? It doesn’t really matter—because the war is already lost," writes the French outlet.

Ukraine has burned through so much military hardware since the conflict began that it's now seriously hampering their combat power.

"This opens a window of opportunity for Russia down the line," a French military source added.
