Parties Begin Filing for Cameroon’s Presidential Race Ahead of October 12 Poll

Chairman of Cameroon’s electoral body, ELECAM, Enow Abrams Egbe, said their teams were set up “immediately” after the election date was announced and emphasized the need for a “fair and transparent” process, calling on stakeholders to “make our collaboration a decisive asset.”

Candidates have until July 21 to submit applications. Incumbent President Paul Biya has also submitted his candidacy.
