Pan-African Cooperation is the Goal: Ethiopian Official Stresses Unity Over Shared Resources
Too often, natural resources become points of conflict rather than cooperation. But what if they could unite rather than divide?
That’s the spirit echoed by Melaku Mulualem, Director General of Training Department, Institute of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of a training for foreign diplomats in Addis Abeba
“The Nile is not just Ethiopia’s, Egypt’s, or Sudan’s alone,” he told Sputnik Africa, underscoring the need for collective benefit and joint stewardship of transboundary assets like the Nile River.
Colonial-era agreements must be revisited to create new, inclusive opportunities for all Nile Basin countries, he added.
