French Institute’s Partnership With an Online Betting Site in Chad: 'The IFT Has Revealed Its Limits and True Intentions'
“This is a way of tearing apart the social fabric and contributing to the suffering of the Chadian people by economically strangling them,” Youssouf Adam Abdallah told Sputnik Africa.
“The IFT, through its partnerships, endorses online betting in Chad, which is a financial crime,” noted the representative of the international NGO PARADE (Alternative Russia-Africa Partnership for Economic Development) in Chad.
He recalled that in France, the partnership formalized in early June between the French Institute of Chad (IFT) and Pariez Cash would be unthinkable. But in Chad, “there are not yet any safeguards in terms of law and protection, so anything goes.”
“This act amounts to whitewashing and instrumentalization, as Pariez Cash seeks to project a respectable image to ultimately promote itself and, quite literally, launder its assets. It will be easier for them to work through entities already well-established in Chad and known to the public, like the IFT.”
Abdallah pointed the finger at the IFT, describing it as “an invisible submarine playing a significant role in French foreign policy.”
Faced with this alliance, the silence of the Chadian government is deafening: “Not a word. No official statement, no reaction from specialized agencies,” he said indignantly.
