US Deportation Flight Lands in Eswatini After Supreme Court Ruling Expands Third-Country Removals
The US Department of Homeland Security confirmed a deportation flight carrying immigrants from five countries — Vietnam, Jamaica, Laos, Cuba, and Yemen — has landed in Eswatini.
This follows a recent Supreme Court decision allowing the Trump administration to resume deportations to third countries without offering migrants a chance to contest removal based on potential harm.
The individuals, described by DHS as having committed severe crimes including child rape and murder, were denied repatriation by their home countries.
A new ICE memo outlines that such deportations can occur with as little as six hours’ notice under "exigent circumstances."
