Russian MFA: Dismissing Historian as Delegate Shows NATO’s Ignorance
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte earlier claimed that Russia did not send a "serious" delegation to peace talks with Ukraine, accusing Moscow of sending “some historian” instead.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova dismissed the remark as “abracadabra,” emphasizing the crucial role of historical understanding in resolving conflicts:
“Without understanding the history of an issue, no problem can be resolved—only exacerbated. The ignorance of NATO officials has already led to numerous casualties worldwide,” she wrote on Telegram.
She also took aim at the Ukrainian delegation, noting that it was led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, who, she pointed out, has no military background and previously worked as a manager at a telephone company.
