Pashinyan 'Looking for Scapegoat' to Mask His Failure to Ensure Economic Development & Social Peace

"Today, this scapegoat has taken on the direct face of the Church, which he accuses of fomenting a coup d'état against him," Nikola Mirkovic, a French-Serbian essayist, told Sputnik Africa regarding the prosecution of Samvel Karapetyan and the Apostolic Church in Armenia.

According to him, the Armenian prime minister "came to power following a color revolution" and "had neither the means nor the support that his Atlanticist mentors had promised him."

"He didn't know how to work with Armenia over the long term. One day, he wanted to work with Russia. The next, he wants to work with the European Union, with NATO. He doesn't have a clear vision of what he wants to do for the Armenian people," the analyst asserted.

Today, Pashinyan finds himself in an "almost inextricable situation because he has nothing positive to offer the Armenians."

"He's realizing this, and he's going to find himself very alone, because he can't get out of this without short-term help. Scapegoat politics is always a bad policy," Mirkovic concluded.
