Kenya’s Anti-Government Protest Death Toll Climbs to 31
Moreover, two forced disappearances, 532 arrests, and 107 injuries have been reported by the National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR).
Clashes erupted in Nairobi, with KNCHR accusing police of cooperating with armed gangs.
"The KNCHR strongly condemns all Human Rights violations and urges accountability from all responsible parties including police, civilians and all other stakeholders," it said.
The protests mark Saba Saba Day, which commemorates the 1990 uprising against autocratic rule. Sparked largely by youth frustrated with tax hikes, corruption, and police brutality, the demonstrations have shaken Kenya since June.
