Uganda's Museveni Urges Public Servants to Drive Economic Transformation

The president urged them to promote commercial agriculture, industrialization, ICT, services, and efficient service delivery as key drivers of Uganda’s transformation into a modern, industrialized, and prosperous nation.
Speaking through PM Robinah Nabbanja at the 14th Africa Public Service Day, he emphasized that peace, security, and infrastructure are vital to reduce business costs, attract investment, and create jobs.
He cited gains in maize, milk, sugar, and banana production and highlighted interventions like the Uganda Development Bank, Parish Development Model, and Youth Livelihood Fund to boost household incomes.
Museveni urged stronger regional market engagement and condemned corruption as a key barrier to progress. He challenged civil servants to eliminate subsistence farming, protect public resources, and implement programs with integrity for Uganda’s modernization and prosperity.
