From July 6 to 7, the 17th BRICS Summit, a meeting of the heads of state of the BRICS association, is taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
On Monday, the last day of the summit, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a press conference.
His main statements:
The expansion of BRICS poses no threat to its functioning; the potential of the union is only beginning to unfold.
BRICS countries presented balanced and objective positions on Ukraine at the summit, demonstrating increased understanding of the root causes of the crisis.
The IAEA should take responsibility for its assessments made a few days before the strikes on Iran, which many consider ambiguous.
The IAEA must provide assurances that there will be no politicized narratives introduced regarding the Iran issue.
Disagreements are growing in NATO, and a "mild mutiny on the ship" is brewing.
Russia is not attempting to introduce the topic of investigating attacks on rail infrastructure and bridges into the international discussion, but those responsible will not escape accountability.
