Why GDP Isn’t Enough to Measure Africa’s True Flourishing

“GDP by itself may just reflect the profits of industries and not necessarily everyday flourishing of the people,” Dr. Victor Counted, Associate Professor of Psychology, Director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Regent University, told Sputnik Africa.

He warned that over-reliance on GDP ignores “youth aspirations, spiritual longing, moral frustration, and the non-monetary resources that drive resilience.”
