The arrest of Sputnik journalists in Azerbaijan is not prompted by accusations against their work, but by other considerations, Zakharova says
Baku has never previously made any complaints against the Sputnik bureau, the Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman emphasized.
"Those who want to spoil relations between Moscow and Baku should think twice," Zakharova said.
The situation is perceived as an injustice and resembles a deliberate measure aimed at worsening interstate relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, Dmitry Kiselev, CEO of the Rossiya Segodnya media group, which includes Sputnik, said earlier.
