Yuri Ushakov does not rule out a spontaneous meeting between the two presidents.
"A summit could occur at any moment – this depends entirely on the leaders’ agreement. There could be a prepared meeting with teams negotiating agreements in advance. Alternatively, leaders might decide: ‘Let's meet now and discuss everything ourselves, then instruct our teams later.’ This option is certainly possible," Ushakov said.
The Kremlin aide noted that Putin and Trump might meet some place other than New York.
"If the leaders agree on some other parameters for the meeting, it could take place in another location, not necessarily in New York," Ushakov said.
The presidential aide also said that the preferable scenario involved pre-negotiated documents to make the meeting more meaningful and substantive for future bilateral development.
