Russia Expects All Those Who Stand for Peace to Support Talks in Istanbul, Diplomat Says
With the support of the US, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, conditions were established to restart direct Russian-Ukrainian talks, head of Russia's delegation at the Vienna arms control talks, Yulia Zhdanova, told Sputnik.
"However, this is only the beginning. We see that certain forces are highly invested in either pursuing half-measures or outright sabotaging this process," the diplomat remarked.
The negotiations should result in the signing of final comprehensive agreements between Moscow and Kiev, she emphasized.
So far, Russia and Ukraine held two rounds of talks in Turkey: the first talks in more than three years took place on May 16, while the second round was held on June 2. The dates of the next meeting will be determined in the near future, the Russian MFA said last week.
