Hollywood is a 'False Teacher,' Zimbabwean Artist Pratt Urges Youth to Reject Cultural Programming
Zimbabwean multidisciplinary artist Xander Pratt has launched a sharp critique of Hollywood’s global influence, calling it a modern form of colonization that dilutes identity and suppresses human potential.
"You don’t invade with knives and guns—you invade television, which is ‘tell-a-vision’… programming children and parents worldwide with a single story," Pratt argued in an interview with Sputnik Africa.
He contended this created artificial benchmarks, leaving people "not being themselves" and unable to access their true capabilities.
