Ethiopian Airlines Launches First Direct Cargo Flight Between China's Xinjiang and Africa
On Friday, a Boeing 777 freighter took off from Ürümqi bound for Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), marking the launch of this new route, reports Xinhua agency.
The program includes:
▫ Two to three flights per week operated by Ethiopian Airlines;
▫ Transporting African products to China, such as beef, lamb, and coffee;
▫ Simplified customs processes with direct sorting and distribution upon arrival.
"The route is expected to attract more enterprises across the supply chain, foster related industries, and create new jobs," said Liu Jingyi, Ürümqi airport customs manager.
This new route represents the eighth international freight line launched from Ürümqi this year.
