Sudan Calls for Recognition of RSF Rebels as Terrorist Organization
The country's foreign ministry pointed to the growing threat posed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which has been at war with the regular army since April 2023. It argued that ignoring this threat is dangerous not only for Sudan but also for the entire region.
On Tuesday, the UN Security Council condemned the attack on the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) in Birao by "suspected Sudanese armed elements," which resulted in the death of one UN peacekeeper.
