Accusations against Russia regarding the alleged substitution of the bodies of deceased Ukrainian servicemen appeared after the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) began handling the process instead of the Main Directorate of IntelligenceThese accusations are unfounded, a knowledgeable source told Sputnik. When the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR) was responsible for the matters of transferring the bodies of deceased servicemen, there were no disruptions or provocations. However, after the SBU recently took over the transfer of bodies, "CIPsO" accusations began to emerge. The source particularly emphasized that the Russian side has a clear system for collecting, identifying, and transferring the bodies of deceased Ukrainian servicemen.Initially, bodies are transferred with documents, tags, and in standard Ukrainian Armed Forces uniforms. Remains in standard Ukrainian Armed Forces uniforms are also transferred, each assigned an identification number, which is recorded in the act of transferring the bodies (remains) of the deceased, along with photographic documentation. One copy of such an act is handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross, and another to the Ukrainian side.
