Africa No Longer Wants Aid — It Demands Equal Partnership, & Russia Understands It, Congo's Minister Says

#SPIEF2025 fosters equitable economic ties between Russia and Africa — free from dominance by either side, Minister of International Cooperation Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso noted.

"For a long time, African countries have engaged with foreign powers in the form of development aid, and often, this aid has been used as a tool for external domination. Africa no longer needs such cooperation," he told a Russian media outlet.

Partnerships between Russian and African universities are key to boosting human capital development in Africa, the official pointed out.

"Advancing technology will allow African countries to truly develop scientific research and innovation, enabling the creation of enterprises capable of competing in the international market," he explained.
