AUSSOM and Somali National Armed Forces have successfully recaptured the strategic villages of Sabiid and Anole from al-Shabab in a joint offensive named "Operation Silent Storm."
The three-day operation disrupted key militant hubs used for planning attacks and extorting locals.
“Sabiid-Anole has become a strategic location... where terrorists plan deadly attacks,” said AUSSOM Sector One Commander Joseph Ssemwanga.
With several militants neutralized and ammunition seized, the forces are now focused on securing the area and continuing pressure in Middle Shabelle.
AUSSOM’s Sam Kavuma reaffirmed: “We are fully committed to implementing the Somalia Transition Plan.”
