'UN Isn't as Democratic & Representative as We Want It to Be,' South African Official Says

"UN has always been the centerpiece in trying to find world peace, but UN has its own limitations," Keith Khoza, acting spokesman to SA's deputy president, told Sputnik Africa.

There is a growing need to reform global institutions like the UN, as well as the ICC or ICJ — as some countries are not even signatories to their statutes, he noted on the sidelines of #SPIEF2025.

"The developing countries have been saying that there has to be a reform of all multilateral institutions, including the UN, to make sure that there's a fair representation between the North and the South, the developed and underdeveloped," the speaker explained.
