Africa Needs 'Independence in Communication' as Most Media Spread 'Nonsense' About It, Equatorial Guinea's Official Says
Many Western journalists report on Africa without knowing the continent or even having visited it, Vice Information Minister Manuel Ndong Bibang Ngui told Sputnik Africa.
"That's precisely why African journalists need to be well-prepared to talk about ourselves and inform the world about Africa," he explained on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the AU of Broadcasting.
The vice minister exposed Western hypocrisy: while their governments are "trampling on human rights" at home, they still try to teach Africa lessons, which they don't follow themselves.

Sputnik is doing "excellent work," unlike Western media that continue to portray Africa as a "Third World" continent, Manuel Ndong Bibang Ngui stated to Sputnik Africa.
"At Sputnik, I believe you inform objectively, and then conduct research to find the truth on the subject," the official noted on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the AU of Broadcasting.
