"I'm hoping that there will be international pressure on the prime minister to release Samuel Karapetyan immediately," Harut Sassounian, who publishes Armenian English-language newspaper The California Courier in the United States, told Sputnik.
He said that after Karapetyan said he supports the church and its long traditions, Pashinyan "illegally gave orders" to law enforcement officials to arrest him and also ordered "the court illegally to charge him with a crime that doesn't exist."
