Ukraine Should Accept Russia's Memorandum as Things Will Otherwise ’Get Worse' for Kiev, Russian UN Envoy Says
The Russian memorandum consists of two parts: conditions for a comprehensive long-term peace and conditions for a ceasefire, Vassily Nebenzia recalled during a UNSC meeting.
"This is the best offer Ukraine can get today," the diplomat emphasized.
"An immediate move toward constructive and realistic negotiations" is the only thing that can still "save Ukraine from complete disaster," he added.
So far, Russia and Ukraine held two rounds of talks in Turkey: the first talks in more than three years took place on May 16, while the second round was held on June 2. The dates of the next meeting will be determined in the near future, according to the Russian MFA.
