Israel Has No Plans to Kill Iranian Supreme Leader or Change Regime, President Herzog Says
"But it could be historically a clear side effect of major historical consequences that will do good to the Iranian people," Israeli President Isaac Herzog told a US newspaper.
On Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz called for the elimination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
"The Ayatollah is the head of the snake. […] He is a major objective of dealing with. But, I cannot say that the Ayatollah is a part of our war objectives," the president told a US broadcaster.
Khamenei called Israel's major attack on Iran last Friday a crime and threatened Tel Aviv with a "bitter and terrible fate." Tehran retaliated by launching Operation True Promise 3, which hit military targets inside Israel.
