West 'is Losing Dominance' in African Region
With BRICS expanding, several African countries traditionally aligned with the West are now seeking to join BRICS, weakening Western influence in the region, Elias Monage, President of the Black Business Council, South Africa, told Sputnik Africa.
He emphasized the vital role of media in development and called for diverse perspectives that reflect realities beyond Western viewpoints.
Events like #SPIEF2025 strengthen trade relations between Russia and Africa, promote sector-specific trade, and foster cooperation in education and youth training across the continent, Monage explained.
He also mentioned plans to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding between a South African state-owned company and Russia to assemble trucks locally, which would help address the trade deficit and strengthen ties with the SADC region by supplying its 14 member countries.
