DOGE Approval Rating Falls Amid Musk's Exit: Poll
Support for the US Department of Government Efficiency has dropped even more sharply, to 49% from 66%, amid the recent public conflict between US President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk.
Compared to the results of the poll conducted in April, fewer respondents now view Musk's work as successful or partially successful: 44% (down from 47%) and more now consider his actions a failure or partial failure: 56% (up from 52%).
Overall approval of Trump and his administration has remained unchanged since April:
🟠55% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s performance as president; 45% approve;
🟠Republican strong approval has dropped by 5 points, with more now saying they "somewhat approve."
Key approvals include:
Immigration and border security: 51% approve, 49% disapprove;
Higher education: 56% oppose his policies, including 42% strongly against harassment of international students;
Tariffs: 40% approve, 60% disapprove;
Cost of living and inflation: 39% approve, 61% disapprove
Diversity and inclusion: 44% approve, 56% disapprove.
