"Donald Trump, for his part, also assessed the situation as highly alarming, while acknowledging the effectiveness of Israel's strikes on targets in Iran," Ushakov told reporters.

"Vladimir Putin [in a phone call on Saturday] congratulated Donald Trump on his birthday. The US president turned 79 today," Ushakov told reporters, adding that the leaders' call lasted 50 minutes.
He also said that the conversation was informative, frank, and "very useful."
"Both leaders expressed satisfaction with their interpersonal relations that have been established, which allow ... to communicate in a businesslike manner and to seek solutions to pressing issues on the bilateral and international agenda, no matter how complex these issues may be," the Kremlin aide said.
