"Zimbabwe-Russia relations have continued to grow from strength to strength," Zimbabwean FM Amon Murwira said in a statement as quoted by media.
The statement was read out by Zimbabwean Industry Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu at the Russia Day celebration organized by the Russian Embassy in Harare.
Why are Russia-Zimbabwe relations special?
Zimbabwe is "deeply grateful for Russia’s principled and consistent support;"
The
recent visit by President Mnangagwa to Moscow deepened strategic ties;
Relations are growing rapidly in areas like mining, agriculture, energy, education, and defense;
Both nations have faced unlawful Western sanctions and share a history of defending sovereign choice.
"The fact that Zimbabwean President Mnangagwa participated in the Victory Day celebrations […] in Moscow […] speaks of true solidarity between the two peoples," Russian Ambassador to Zimbabwe stated.
