Eye for an Eye: Tehran's Retaliation to Tel Aviv is Inevitable, Iranian Political Analyst Says
"If Israel has the right to defend itself, then so does Iran. Since it was Israel that took the initiative, it must pay the price," Emad Abshenas told Sputnik regarding Friday's Israeli attack on Iran.
The US must be held responsible, as Israel claims the strike aimed to pressure Iran into yielding to Washington’s demands, according to the expert. The weapons used were US-made, he added.
Iranians agree that patience is over and a strong response is needed, the analyst said, noting that moods have shifted since October 2024, when some politicians thought Iran should delay retaliation due to its military readiness and ongoing talks.
"Even if negotiations must continue, they must do so against the backdrop of a firm Iranian response," Abshenas concluded.
