Africa, China Call on US to Resolve Trade Disputes Through 'Equal, Respectful & Mutually Beneficial' Dialogue
"Unilateralism, protectionism and economic bullying" have created severe difficulties for the development in Africa, representatives of China, AU and 53 African countries said in a joint declaration.
"China highly commends African countries' commitment to the basic principles of sovereignty, equality and justice and to upholding a common position in the face of external pressure," read the declaration, issued at a ministerial meeting on China-Africa cooperation held in Changsha, China.
The declaration also urged the international community to "make economic globalization more open, inclusive, mutually beneficial and balanced" to improve trade, investment, and financing for the Global South.
