US Made Ukraine Abandon Peace Talks With Russia in April 2022, Economist Sachs Says

Back in April 2022, when Russia and Ukraine had a draft peace agreement on the table, "the US told the Ukrainians, 'No, no, you fight on,'" Jeffrey Sachs told US journalist Tucker Carlson.

The conflict persisted in 2022 because the so-called "deep state" in the US advocated for it, believing that a swift victory against Russia was possible, the renowned economist noted.
He called on Trump to "put an end" to warmongering in his administration and Congress, where such hawks as senator Lindsey Graham* continue to push for the continuation of conflict in Ukraine.
Sachs recalled urging then-National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in late 2021 to avert the conflict by accepting Russia's demand for Kiev's neutrality, but Sullivan rejected it, citing NATO's open-door policy.
